- In the spirit of Local is Lekker, it aims to be a one-stop shop of local information, news, and events.
- It aims to raise awareness & community spirit, wants to connect people, and gives you a voice.
- It is not about advertising and making money, but is among others about keeping you connected with community organisations that work on your behalf.
- It is a collaboration between various stakeholders, who post daily news on relevant topics. Current stakeholders are the Simon’s Town Civic Association (STCA), Simon’s Town Business Association (SBA), Simon’s Town Community Police Forum/Neighbourhood Watch (CPF), Simon’s Town Coastal Forum (STCF), and Human Wildlife Solutions (HWS), and we are working on getting more organisations on board in the near future, as well as the Navy, who are an integral part of Simon’s Town and the community.
