Invitation to Network with local business in Simon’s Town 22 July 2014

If you do business in Simon’s Town then this is where you should be.

Come to the False Bay Yacht Club at 6pm and enjoy the company of other business owners in Simon’s Town. This is a great opportunity to make new contacts, form alliances, make new clients and meet old friends. Share problems and solutions and have some fun, while marketing yourself and your business.

Meet… Chef Bruce from the Flagship

‘Seafood Chef Extraordinaire!’ With his creative roots firmly grounded in advertising as a former Art Director, Chef Bruce spent a decade as Pro Cook/Culinary Adventurer/Restaurateur and African Food Guide. He knows no boundaries and takes everything culinary way beyond its limits. His whirlwind spiral to the top of his game has left its mark on the ‘Food scene‘ south of the equator. His maverick antics and unique style of ‘cuisine’ have paved the way for the younger generation to follow in showcasing what our incredible yet fragile ocean has to offer.

Meet… Danielle from Tribakery

Our first branch opened in October 2009 in the old Timeless Way building on Kalk Bay Main Road. Having successfully traded for eighteen months, we opened our second restaurant in Sherwood Centre, Bergvliet. This branch is based on the fundamental elements of the brand but has a slightly more modern look. The team of staff which was involved in the establishment of the brand in 2009 has grown with the brand and continues to be involved in the development of any new Tribakery branch.

Meet… The Scarborough / Imini Security Team.

Scarborough Securities have strengthened their position in Simon’s Town with a new control centre at 60 St Georges Street. You will notice their Imini Patrol cars situated around the whole community, from the outer suburbs supporting the active neighbourhood watch, and through the main street. They also “prowl the empty streets at night”. This small, dedicated team has a wealth of experience and can help with all aspects of home and business security, not just installations, offering a truly local service.

Snacks for those who RSVP by Saturday evening to Margaret.  margaret@paddlers.co.za    Surprise rewards.  Please remember to bring your marketing materials for circulation.

“Reflections” Music Concert, 1 December 2013: end-of-year-occasion-to-relax

Without music, life would be an error (Nietzsche)

Pro Musica Divina director, Steven van der Merwe, invited the wonderfully talented duo Sarah Acres (cello) and Albert Combrink (piano) to perform their program “Reflection” at the Simon’s Town Methodist Church on 1 December at 6.30pm.  This delightful program of contemplative music (by a variety of composers from Schubert to Ravel) allows the audience time to sit back, relax and enjoy the sounds of reflection and peace.  This is enhanced by the fact that there is no applause, except at the beginning and end of the concert, and candles are the only light as soon as daylight fades.

Come and enjoy an hour of shear musical bliss in tranquility of the church on the hill overlooking the beautiful town of Simon’s Town!  Tickets are R 70 and only available at the door.  For enquiries phone 072 992 9220.  Please remember that seats are limited, therefore arrive in good time to find your “special spot” for contemplation.

Eat, Sleep, Shop & Play – Simon’s Town Promotional Map & Leaflet – book your advert now!

Our town map has successfully been circulated to 60,000 over the last 12 months but this season we aim to raise the bar!  We are preparing to extend the map into a highly informative and attractive brochure, combining the numerous attractions of the area with activities, where to eat, sleep and shop.

This will be extensively available to tour operators, guides, and visitors coming to Cape Town, especially those looking to the peninsula as their holiday base – this includes 200,000 monthly visitors who have named Cape Point as their number one destination. This is our target audience – we must get them to stop here and stay here to fully appreciate everything the area has to offer.

A lot of our marketing adequately provides information regarding the historical sites, restaurants, beaches, shops  etc but the aim is to persuade visitors that Simon’s Town should be the main  base for their Cape Town holiday. Every shop, historical site, museum, restaurant and activity  should be represented to make this the number one reference for all visitors. And everyone of them should in turn be able to use the brochure to book activities, meals and accommodation. By showcasing our businesses together in one vehicle we are proposing the case for visitors to make Simon’s Town their holiday base. Continue reading
